Karina
Hi, I am Karina, the owner of Take The Lead Services.
I am a qualified and registered veterinary nurse with over 7 years experience in small animal practice.
My experience and dedication to animals means you can rely and trust that your pets will get the best care and attention and be treated as if they were one of my own.
I know how much you love your special family friends and that's why I aim to provide a dedicated and experienced service to provide love, stimulation and reassurance to your pets when you are out at work or away on holiday.
So where has my pet passion come from?
I have grown up in a very animal friendly family with cats, horses, goats, chickens, small furries and dogs to name but a few!
My childhood was spent with our family cavalier and toy poodle until I got my own first dog, a yorkshire terrier called Sophie!
I went to obedience training classes and started agility... Yes with a yorkie! Sophie was fantastic and a natural to say the least, she excelled at it and climbed the grades at a rate of knots! We even performed in demonstrations at various shows and fun days.
When I was 17 I started teaching weekend agility classes at Laleham Dog Training Club and I loved it.
I qualified as a veterinary nurse at the age of 21 and I wanted to experience all types of veterinary medicine so I locumed in several small animal surgeries, then worked for the Royal Veterinary College University, Vets Now Emergency Service and Fitzpatrick Referrals.
At the age of 20 I got Sasha, a beautiful German Shepherd.
She was my pride and joy, a loyal intelligent girl who was always willing to please but kept me on my toes and taught me so much more about dogs. Tragically we lost her to cancer just after her 5th Birthday in 2013.
During this time I met my partner Matt, and he came with Sabre, a rescue German Shepherd. Sabre had a lot to learn after a bad start in life but he is now a fantastic pack dog who keeps everyone in check!
So then in 2014 we decided to get our puppy 'Storm', A German Shepherd of course. She is a real rascal with a very unique character! We both look forward to meeting you all soon!
